I always think it's funny when brides to be say they won't need a wedding video becasue they will remember everything about the day. Little do they know that they will suffer from "wedding amnesia".

I did a wedding 2 years ago and the bride and groom brought by their photos for their photo montage about 3 weeks after the wedding...they had asked if I had worked on the wedding and if they could see any of the footage, I said I was finished with the ceremony and they could see that... so I played them the footage from the entrance of the wedding party... the first thing the groom says is "where is that music coming from "...my reply was that "that's the chamber trio that you tripped over as you came in the side door of the church".... his reply was, "you mean we had music"... the bride looks at me and rolls her eyes, I start to laugh.... I hit play on the computer - as the bride walks down the aisle, he tells me to pause the footage, he starts talkingabout "that's Bob and Terry, they are from St Louis where I went to school, you mean those guys were at our wedding, I don't remember them being there".....at this point the bride and I are rolling...this guy didn't remember anything from that day, I asked about other things that happened that day and he had no clue to what had gone on that day....

One of the most unusual cases we had was a wedding at a historic church and a reception at a historic mansion with a huge tent. The Father of the Bride was wealthy and spent lots of money on this wedding.
During the reception a sudden hurricane came up. The tent almost blew away. The band and their instruments were drenched. People fled to the mansion. The camera kept rolling, thunder lightning and wind almost leveling the tent. Strangest video to edit. The lights went out/on/out. The camera kept rolling with very interesting comments by guests in the blackness. When the storm subsided they got things together and the show went on under one light from a backup generator.
As the bride got in the limo to go to the recreption, when asked about the wedding, she said, "It went off without a hitch." In editing as the guests were leaving the tent rather hysterically, I overlaid Elvis Presley's "All Shook Up." The last clip for the video I went back and picked up her saying, "It went off without a hitch."
The most amazing thing of it all was when the Bride and Groom and family looked at it, they all said, "We don't remember all that." What a testimony for having video taken. There is no way a photographer could have captured that with all the commotion, comments, etc. And if you don't remember, there's no way you can describe it to your grandchildren. |
Hey guys!!! The video is wonderful!!!!!!!! What a great keepsake! I just love it! |
